My Little Christ Like Elements P.6 (Magic)

"I wouldn't be standing here if it weren't for the friendships I've made with all of you. Each one of you taught me something about friendship, and for that, I will always be grateful."
-Twilight Sparkle

"And Magic makes it all complete!"
-Also Twilight Sparkle
"Please tell me you didn't buy that
JUST to do that..."
Err... No...?

So here we are, at the grand finale of this great and VERY long series of Christ like Elements and we have arrived at the apex, one of the most important and vital elements, it's kind of the one that brings them all together. We have, Faith. So what is faith? "It's just like believing in stuff right?" Close I guess. There are a ton of places to find what exactly faith is but we'll use my favorite cause darn it I'm the one writing this! "Is that technically breaking the fourth wall?" Doesn't matter cause here we go!

"And now as I said concerning faith— faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true."

So that being sai- "I practically said just that... Believing in stuff..." Well... I said you were close. But you definitely lacked the principle of it. "What...?" You're missing the Hope part. Yes you can believe, and you can believe all you want, but if you don't have the hope, what's the point of it? "So is that to say that if I have faith and hope that I'll fly, It'll happen? "No and no..." I also do not suggest trying that because 1) I care. and 2) With you gone, who's gonna read my blog? "You think you know a guy..." Elder... but no, because that would be useless. "But you always say God can do anything. Why doesn't He show it by making me fly?" An excellent question. Someone asked that same question, his name? Korihor. "Story time?" Story time.

"And now Korihor said unto Alma: If thou wilt show me a sign, that I may be convinced that there is a God, yea, show unto me that he hath power, and then will I be convinced of the truth of thy words."

So Korihor is described as being an Anti-Christ and like most people, wanted God to show him a sign to prove of his power. So legit right? Wrong! I've learned very often that you don't tempt fate, or God for that matter but luckily for the saints in Zarahemla, Alma, who you'll probably remember by clicking here, was there to protect the faith,

But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.

Korihor, fearing for his sideburns.
The end of that story goes that Korihor got what he asked for. He was struck mute and could never lead others away again.

Miracles do not produce faith, but strong faith is developed by obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
True faith brings miracles, visions, dreams, healings, and all the gifts of God that he gives to his Saints.

Faith is kind of like taking a step in the dark. It's that light at the end of the tunnel. It's the foundation that without, all these wonderful Christ-like Elements, would be made useless, and it's all centered on Christ.
Many people will say that they accept Christ as their Savior, but I accept that vegetables are an important part of a balanced diet, doesn't mean I like it. When you have faith, you have to believe, truly believe that He is there, and not just that, but that He loves you and that by His grace you are saved, after all we can do.

I've learned for myself that Christ lives and that he is always there for us. I've challenged Moroni promise which is,

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

and by doing so, have found for myself the truth and you can too. It's been a long, stressful, but fun Elements of Christ series, but like all good things, it must come to an end. But to wrap all things up, Paul has this to say,

If there is one thought I can leave you with, it's this one.

'Telling the Truth' by Lesego Mholo

I'd rather be hurt by you telling me the truth than lies. Keep deceiving people and think they don't know. One day it will catch up with you. The truth hurts when its contrary to what your made to believe.  In one way or another lies always catch up with us, our consciousness doesn't let us lie for too long. Lying affects trust and loyalty in a relationship when your lied to you feel like you no longer belong you feel inadequate, telling the truth solidifies a relationship bond, and it might signify love or care; furthermore, telling the truth to me it tells that your emotionally mature. The truth makes me feel secure. Sometimes we give our hearts to people, and they think we are stupid for that we end up depending on them for loyalty. Truth is the only way two people can survive in a relationship and mutual understanding but reassurance and trust are the only things that might keep the relationship functioning. Dishonesty is the beginning of a fading relationship and...

“Let Go Off That Branch”

Once upon a time there was a man sitting on the top of a mountain, enjoying the gentle spring breeze and the beautiful scenery, including the tree and the rock that was behind him. Suddenly a strong gust of wind blew him off the mountain, and while falling he saw a branch sticking out so he grabbed it. Hanging off the side of the mountain like cliff hanger the man naturally began to pray, asking for God’s help and hears a voice that asks “Do you believe that I created that tree on the mountain?”. The man replies “yes I do, but I really need some help”. The voice then asks, “Do you believe that I created that rock on the mountain?” The man replies a little faster “Yes, I do now please! Help me!”. The voice then asks “Do you believe that I created the wind that blew you off the mountain?”. The man replies a little slower this time “……yes I do”, then the voice asks,” Do you believe that I can create another wind that will blow you right back up unto the mountain?”. The man replies, “Y...

Adventures with Eve (March 1, 2015)

Early in a recent week, I was asked if I was going to the company Snow Day Party. I said that I was, but I only wanted to go if Eve and Ezra was coming with me. There was no time designated for dinner on Friday night, which confused and baffled my grandparents, but Eve and Ezra was able to come. We arrived about 6:30, and we had a good amount of time to enjoy the snow. We found a modest hill, and went down it a few times. After the kids got over it, we went to the barn before it got dark to wait for other members of the company to arrive. I found games to play like dominoes and scramble. The lights were dim. People were barely arriving at 8 o' clock.  I have a bunch of adventures with Eve to write about. The following list has most: scrabble on the night of the Snow Day Party, a run with a friend and her, making videos, a belated Valentine, reading a book, Cooking with Eve, a rock collection, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, playing video games, and more. I have som...
